Intrapreneurship – Fostering Change Within Established Enterprises

An intrapreneur is an agent of change within an enterprise who takes risk to transform an innovative idea into value. Intrapreneurs are found in institutional enterprises and are the equivalent of entrepreneurs in entrepreneurial enterprises. Intrapreneurs can be appointed by management, but often emerge from within based upon a perceived need for change.

Diseconomies of Scale

As an entrepreneur toys with that one big idea he/she will undoubtedly weigh the pros and cons in an effort to determine the feasibility of an idea. The biggest question that occurs during this fragile stage is: are the big, entrenched, experienced, and rich competitors too much of a threat to proceed? A lot of people in the business community believe that success is positively related to the size of an organization. Kitchen Incubator Creates Revenue and Jobs
